How It Works

From arrival notification to application review

Submit your notification, follow the next steps in your account, and track progress through NIS review.

  1. Step 1

    Prepare your company profile

Register, verify your email, and provide your company registration details and CAC, NPA and NIMASA documents for verification.

  2. Step 2

    Submit the arrival notification

Enter the vessel and voyage details, upload the ship’s article, and provide the contact information required on the form.

  3. Step 3

    Complete the application requirements

After NIS acknowledgment, follow the instructions in your account to coordinate the remaining information and documents needed for review.

  4. Step 4

    Track review and next steps

Follow the status in your account, respond to queries, and review issued invoices, clearances or notices as the application progresses.

Notification acknowledgment is a step in the application process. It is not an approval or clearance.

MBAS helps shipping companies and their agents manage vessel arrival and departure applications with the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS). Your company can submit notifications, track application progress, and access issued documents through its account.

Create an account, verify your email address, and complete your company profile with your CAC registration details, CAC certificate, Nigerian Ports Authority Certificate of Registration and NIMASA Registration License. Check your company verification status in your account. If a correction is requested, review the reason and upload the corrected document.

Have the vessel name, IMO number, flag country and vessel type ready, along with the port of origin, arrival port, berth or terminal, next port of call, purpose of entry and expected arrival and departure dates. Upload the ship’s article and have the captain’s email address ready, as it is a required field on the notification form.

Your notification is sent to NIS for acknowledgment. Open the application details to check its status and follow the next steps shown in your account. Acknowledgment does not mean the application has been approved or a clearance issued.

Open Invoices in your company account to review issued invoices and their payment status. Follow the payment options and instructions displayed for the relevant invoice.

Your dashboard provides access to arrival clearances, departure clearances and withdrawal notices. Open the relevant section to view the documents that have been issued for your applications.

Sign in and open the application details to check its current status and any outstanding steps. If your application is queried, review the feedback and complete the requested corrections using the actions available in your account.

Use the departure workflow in your company account for the relevant vessel and arrival application. Review the vessel details, provide the required departure information and documents, and follow the steps shown on screen.
